Thanks for your Help!

Hi, go take a look at textured backgrounds in pixabay, something like this https://pixabay.com/illustrations/circular-slabs-metal-iron-837510/

then play around with the original image styles in the layer panel.

I'm sorry but I don't have a video to share but a search of youtube for "layer styles in Gimp" will prode the follow along your looking for.

Good luck, hopefully youll post the finished pctues and your "how to" once you master it.

You could try a flame fractal for the last one. And maybe different coloured super novas for the different vertical colours. They can also be made as large or small as you like. Like this [attachment=10951]
I did a flame fractal and made a background with the GMIC array faded. Added a transparent layer and did a plasma to your liking then overlay it to your background.
Put your picture of a person as your next layer and add another transparent layer on top of that.
Then go to filers, lighting and shadow, super nova and put several of these down the centre of the person. Changing the radius. Change the colour each time.

Unlikely that any of those images ever came from anywhere near Gimp.

Making tutorials is a thankless business and in the long run it is better if the Gimp user discovers their own way.

For the 'chakra' you might get something like this:

Building up in layers, solid noise deformed with the gimp_gmic_qt plugin http://www.gmic.eu - the rodalius filter. Then coloured, Embelisments, the Gimp supernova filter in Light and Shadow works ok.

1_big Sallyanne answered that one, find some stock images and build up in layers.

0_full Not easy in Gimp, you might get it from a fractal program jwildfire http://jwildfire.overwhale.com/ See their example screenshots.

An example of how to make a colored aura. After coloring the smoke, use 'Filters / Blur / Gaussian Blur' to  mistify the smoke.

Some smoke brushes : https://www.brusheezy.com/free/smoke-gimp
You can also use the online tool to make smoke : http://weavesilk.com. Save the image, color the smoke (as in the video) and then use the blur tool in gimp.
