YES... I saw his posts. I will try to write also him direct...
But I understand he is using the software delivered with the carving machine... not Gimp...

Interesting... not 100% what I am looking for, but it could be a good start. As soon I convince Gimp to run that 8bf filter (I put Pspi.exe abd porcelain.8bf  in plugin directory but I receive incompatibility errors...)

The gmic plugin has a depth map constructor.

But first are you convinced of the suitability of that image? I think it need a solid back ground, and even maybe not too suitable.
