I installed Gimp in early January of this year (2026) on a new Chromebook. I use to be able to launch and use it, but it no longer launches. The bar, at the bottom shows it attempting, but fails after a couple of minutes.

Its a new Chromebook. Model Asus CX15.

I had to install Linux first, so it runs under Linux. It no longer works.

It now loads fine. Have no clue why.

Before I posted the original question, I did reboot the Chromebook, and tried launching Gimp, again. No luck.

But when I just tried a few minutes ago, it launched fine. I edited my intended image, and saved the altered file.
