Full Version: Distort Center of Text

Hello,

I'm trying to distort the center of text without distorting the ends of it.

I've tried Cage Transform, but that "bows" the letters on the end, and I'm going for a "straight text", hard lines, etc.

An example would be the logo attached.

Any idea how I can create this effect? I'm wondering if I could make a shape with GFig and fill the text into that shape?
try ofnuts' 'Bend Path' plug-in

or use Inkscape:

split text in half and deform each part with the 'Perspective/Envelope' Live Path Effect

Actually, I took your idea of splitting the text in half and then used the Handle Transform tool.

Selected the 4 corners of the text then stretched the two ends I wanted and it worked great.

Thanks for the tip!
Its usually not a good idea to make these kind of warped text effects with rasterimages.
Most of the time you will get blurry edges, especially when stretching, thats why its better to work with a path so everything will look clean.

But if the method you used worked for you, then great !
