Hey all,

I'm ultimately looking to cut out x percentage of a cicular ring and center it perfectly when I'm finished.

Embarrassingly I've spent hours trying to do this with no luck, and no relevant google searches that I could find either. How would one go about doing this?
Something like this ?

My dial-marks script perhaps:

[attachment=2498]

The script produces a path. In the screenshot above, there isĀ  an additional Select>From path and a bucket-fill of the resulting selection.

After installation, the script is in Filters>Render>Path>Dial marks.

The script can be downloaded here: http://sourceforge.net/projects/gimp-pat...s/scripts/
Maybe Gimp can do the arithmetic.

Start off with a circular selection. Fix it and then into subtract mode

Then one at a time, the diameter squared. multiplied by the percentage, then the square root to give a new diameter
