Hi, I've been using Gimp for a while and have an account on DeviantArt. I notice a lot of resources there are saved in a RAR format. Can they be used with Gimp 2.8 or is it something that is usually used by Photoshop? Thanks.
RAR is a archiving format similar to zip.
Nothing to do with Gimp. RAR is used to compress / bundle-up several files into a file you can download. Unlike zip, Windows does not have a built-in unpacker, you need to install one yourself.
Try

Thanks for that Richard, that makes sense the way you explain it. I will try the link and see how I get on.
