I get the following message when I try to open 'help'. I've reinstalled Gimp but it still happens. What can I do?

Plug-in crashed: "help-browser.exe"
(C:\Program Files\GIMP 2\lib\gimp\2.0\plug-ins\help-browser\help-browser.exe)

Using 32 bit? Which version of Gimp are you using?

It has been fixed but only recently. You need the latest installer gimp-2.10.12-setup-3.exe

However there is a chance that this does not work with a 32 bit windows.

You also need the Gimp 2.10 help installer (en or en_GB)

My W10 is 64 bit, but I don't know which Gimp I've got. How do I tell? 'About Gimp' doesn't say.

Help -> About gives the main version eg. Gimp 2.10.12 but for the Windows release you need to look at the Windows installer you actually used. The number after setup ie....setup-x .exe
