Full Version: cut out photo

i just cut out a figure in a photo and it has an alpha channel and i saved it and tried to put it on another photo and it had a white background. I just want the figure, no background. How do I do that?
How did you save it? JPG doesn't preserve transparency. Save as XCF (you can drag the layer form one picture to another in Gimp) or as PNG.

I tried saving it as a png and it worked! Thank you!
