I'm trying to scan a photo into Gimp, but the dialogue box to choose my printer, isn't appearing. The printer's ok, and I have up to date drivers, so I can't work out the problem. I'm using the latest version of Gimp.

This is in File -> Create -> Scanner / Camera and the Select Source' shows nothing.

I use linux generally and do not have a suitable Windows installation to try out a printer/scanner. However

I do remember a comment about earlier Gimp 2.10's that the TWAIN gimp plugin (twain.exe)  no longer worked. It is a 32 bit plugin (old & no maintainer)  and seems no good with a 64 bit Gimp in Windows. Your printer works because the Gimp print plugin (print.exe) is 64 bit.  It could still be the case.

Hopefully, some Windows users with printer / scanners will come along with solutions.

It might be possible using an intermediate program, thinking maybe XnViewMP to scan, then send to Gimp. On the other hand, as easy to use whatever came with the scanner and save the image to open with Gimp.
Thanks. That must be the case. When I go into File>Create>Scanner/camera, nothing appears at all. Thanks anyway.
