Hi, I own a Macbook pro early 2015. I have some issues with GIMP, but it's still usable with Big Sur. I am using v. 2.10.12

Maybe you could try this version meanwhile we're waiting for the new one.

I hope it helps!
Hi! Thanks for the suggestion, I installed v. 2.10.12 but it failed to open. If you don't mind me asking, do you have the torrented version or regular? Thanks again.  Big Grin
I just tried installing the last version that ran with X11 and not natively - 2.8.0. I downloaded XQuartz from here and GIMP 2.8.0 from here. The result, although an old version of GIMP, is completely useable.
There is a report on various applications, including a Gimp 2.10.14 here:

Maybe any MacOS users can follow up there.
Hello,
I realise that I am not the only one with a problem.
I used to use Gimp 2.8 on my Imac retina 21.5 inch with the HighSierra system.
I switched to the BigSur system and I wanted to update the gimp 2.10.14 downloaded from the official Gimp website.
My 2 problems :
1- I can't, for any selection, get the dotted line which indicates the selection made on the image, even though the selection is well made (I can visualize it thanks to the selection editor).
2- the use of the brush is very slow (jerky)

As advised, I tried with the latest version on https://download.gimp.org/mirror/pub/gimp/v2.10/osx/: gimp-2.10.22-x86_64-experimental.dmg
and I have the same problem
Thank you for your help

Good News since 2020-12-25 :-)

EDIT:

:-( Not really.
If you e.g. want to draw/delete something, the Pointer doesn't work in a good flow ...

From there this:

Has any Mac big sur user tried the Partha version ? https://www.partha.com/

I've tried Partha. Same issues, doesn't work.
@Alex
Just to be sure and understand it correctly:
You tried it with X11?

I had the same issue. It turned out that with Big Sur I had to go to system preferences | security and privacy | Files and Folders | and give Gimp Access to my desktop as that was where I had the file. Now it works fine :-)
Hi, just saw this. I am also on Big Sur and I am having issues. Right now when I paint or erase it becomes very "jerky" and is no longer fluid. Many times the action I want it to do, will take one to two seconds to complete after I un-click. It has really SLOWED DOWN PRODUCTION so I am hoping a fix is coming...
