Can I copy a layer mask I have on a pic into another project? When I do it I end up with the original pic with no layer mask.

I have several layer masks of different faces and it would be convenient if I could. Copy them to another project. The only way I can do it is to open the project with the layer mask and delete all the other layers and drag in a new base pic to go with the face, then rename the file.

Any other way to do this?
More than one way, the most basic

With the layer active, Layer -> Mask > Show Layer Mask toggles the layer mask as a monochrome image. Save that as a png. You can toggle the show layer mask back off. There is a green border indicator on the layer mask icon.

Putting it back in. Make a layer mask and click in the layer mask icon to make it active (white border) Open the layer mask image that was saved. Then Edit -> Copy (or ctrl-c) Go to the image with the layer mask, Edit -> Paste (or ctrl-v) That gets a floating selected layer, anchor the layer `Layer -> Anchor Layer (or (ctrl-h)

Probably more trouble than it is worth. Most likely the next step is messing about scaling / positioning the layer mask to make it fit Smile

Why will you delete all the other layers?
Use the tabs

drag a layer (with its mask) to your different project in the other tab and drop it on the image, you don't need to delete any things in the first project Wink
