Notes:
- The Brush editor does not support it, but you can use a text editor edit the VBR and set an aspect ratio >20. Interesting effects.
- If you want to be accurate, these sparkles are caused by the diaphragm in the camera (you don't see them in the physical world, only on photos). A diaphragm with an even number of blades produces as many spikes, those with an odd number twice as many so given that diaphragms have between 5 to 11 blades, you can have 6, 8, 10, 14, 18 or 22 spikes.

You might found this video useful to make your own brush
Or maybe you are searching for a tuto to quickly read and make your own (the video above is way too long for what it is).
https://www.gimpusers.com/tutorials/sparkle-on-objects
Or may be just some brushes to download? (usually I don't like to download brushes when I can make them)

As before deviantart is a good source, although you might have to do a bit of conversion.
From a collection there, 8 Gimp brushes in the flare style.
zipped https://u.pcloud.link/publink/show?code=...58ySS9Om7k
Still in Gimp is the old gradient flare plugin Filters -> Light&Shadow -> Gradient Flare use the classic version in the selector tab and play with the sliders.

Did anyone try this ? It is .abr and when I use it, it gives dark shine instead of white. It would be nice to know whether a fix is available. Thanks.
