Hi all Smile

I am using the standard Mosaic filter in Gimp --> Filters - Distorts - Mosaic.
I'm looking for way to shut off the lighting function as well as the joints color. Preferably I would like to have my mosaic tiles have 1 distinct color each (so no lighting effects) and no joints/different color borders between tiles.

Any suggestions/other plugins on how to best achieve this would be very welcome.

Annoying isn't it.

Try the gimp_gmic_qt plugin http://www.gmic.eu - there is a Windows installer. It has hundreds of filters. Put in mosaic in the search box. Play around with the density slider. Looks like this: https://i.imgur.com/Z0cKhK8.jpg

Tile height to 1 = no lighting effect
for the joint & light color put them to transparent (both-> Black AND White to transparent)

Then `Filters ➤ Distorts ➤ Value propagate > Mode "More Opaque"

@ Rich, thanks for suggesting the alternative plugin!
@ Pixlab, Yes, that's what I was aiming for! Looks very elegant, thank you!
