Full Version: Saving Workspace Layout

I just installed GIMP 2.10 on a new computer. I fiddled around and got my workspace set up the way I want with the toolbox in a column down the left, etc. The computer arbitrarily restarted overnight and everything went back to the default layout. I know there's a way to save the workspace, but I've looked everywhere and can't find that "save workspace" option I'm sure I've previously used.

What am I missing?
Go to the menu Edit ➤ Preferences a window opens, go to Tool Options you can check many things there on the right side
and may be while you're there, extend Interface to access Window Management as well
then click OK to commit your setting

Your accidental shutdown might be the problem. By default Gimp saves the layout last used.

However to fix a layout, set up Gimp the way you want and your toolbox (aka like PS) can cause problems if the tool options dock is not visible somewhere Wink then

It is Edit -> Preferences -> Interface -> Window Management  untick Save window positions on exit  and click on Save Window Positions Now  OK that and close the preferences.

Gimp will start with the layout you specified. If you want to change anything, repeat the process.
