I thought of the following procedure:
1- Having the initial path;
2- Mirror the path using the path-mirror-0.0py plugin;
3- With the Rotate Tool, rotate the path (here 45ยบ).

But I'm not sure I understood the question well.

The best I can suggest is:
- Rotate Path2 so that its axis is horizontal/vertical
- Mirror it (Flip tool, or my path-mirror plugin)
- Add a marker stroke along the symmetry axis
- Rotate/move Path2 to bring the marker stroke on Path1
- Remove the marker stroke.
