Sorry everyone but gimp newbie post here!...how do you convert a photo into a sports type photo as shown in attachment, not the background etc just the main image in foreground?
What makes it a "sports type" (if we replace Ronaldo by Charles III, what should remain)?
Sorry if I havent been clear, what I mean is how to change the photo effect to a more caricature type

Yeah I havent been very clear, I am trying to find out how to change an image to caricature type like in the photo i posted, I assume its something to do with changing photo effects & colours but not sure

Generally it is called a Dave Hill effect. Originally a combination of a real photograph with clever lighting followed by post-processing.
You can get close to it using the Gimp gmic_qt plugin

Other effects to look out for are the dagan effect and the national geographic effect.
There are some plugins to assist, need a bit of time to dig them out and check if they work with Gimp 2.10.34

The gmic plugin using the graphic novel filter. Lots of options with this, you need to play with the sliders
The hillstrative script which uses gmic, you need that installed. Find it in Filters -> Artistic. not many options.
The national geograpgic script, old one updated for Gimp 2.10 Find it in Filters -> Generic. Play with the sliders.
Unzip the attached, Two scripts: elsamuko-national-geographic-2-10.scm & hillustrative-GMIC-QT.scm Put them in your Gimp user scripts folder. C:\Users\"yourname"\AppData\Roaming\GIMP\2.10\scripts
If you are serious about caricature you could try 'Warp Transform'. It's in Top Menu > Tools > Transform > Warp Transform. Warning. Another tool you may need is a defamation lawyer LoL.
