Sorry, I'm a beginner in gimp.
I have a picture with white text on black background. First I want to remove the text. I try using the klone tool. I use the ctl-key for marking the source spot. But the klone tool does not do anything.
I would appreciate a help tip
I would just use the paintbrush of appropriate size. Make your foreground color black (000) and just paint over the white text. If your background is a shade of black select it with the eye-dropper tool (part of color select) and make that your foreground color. Foreground color is the first of two to be used by pen or brush.
If you have a selection somewhere then the clone tool will not work somewhere else. In the top menu, look under select and choose select none.
Also, make sure in your clone 'tool options' the alignment isn't on registered or none
As you mentioned, hold down the Ctrl key while clicking to set your source point. Make sure you click on an area near the text that has a similar texture and brightness to the background. Avoid areas with shadows or highlights.
