Full Version: just a bit of transaparency to a layer

Hi there, i'm a very beginner user and i'm trying to use gimp to create a camouflage for a videogame I like. my question is if it's possible, when using the layers, make one of them just a tiny bit transparent so u can see the layer below and do some work wile beeing able to see the reference image benith it.

Yes, this is why there is an opacity slider at the top of the layers list. When you use some of the transform tools (scale/rotate/ect...) the preview is by default fully opaque but there are options to make it partially transparent as well.
