If you have gone to the trouble of making a path then back to my post #2 and two alternatives Stroke the path using quickmask + resynthesizer Stroke the path for a mask using gmic inpaint filter. I probably didn't do a perfect job but I think it does pretty good, depending on the user.

Yes, it depends on the complexity of the background. In fact if I remember correctly it was before I was even aquainted with the heal and clone tools. |
