I have Gimp 3.2.4 on MacOS 26 but the option to scan is still missing.
Do you know when it will be available on MacOS?
Do you know the last version of GIMP where it was available on MacOS?

The menu entries, such as these;

These come from third party plugins XSane & xscanimage and not from the Gimp developers. No plugin, no menu entry. They need re-writing for Gimp 3 and no sign of that happening soon.
I use linux and the best at the moment is this python plugin https://www.gimp-forum.net/Thread-Gimp-3-x-scanner-xsane-plugin-is-now-available
Maybe you can get a MacOS Gimp 2.10 + Xsane working. In linux the stand-alone Xsane and the Gimp plugin are the same file.
As a note: Windows users are better off. CMYKstudent has a TWAIN replacement working/in progress.
