help with fuzzy tool - ab_dutt - 01-09-2018

dear all,

i am a newbie in GIMP. so i need some help.
as you can see that from the attached pic, that I had done not a bad job by chopping off the blue color on the top using the Fuzzy selection (Magic Wand) tool (i selected the smallest brush i could find) but it needs to be refined a bit more as the interface still contains a haze of blue.
can someone suggest me how to improve this ?
thanks a lot and best wishes for the new year !

Its probably better to make a selection with a path.

If the path tool is too challenging for you, you could also zoom in very closely and make the selection with the Lasso Tool.
Depends on how much perfection is required.

For quick and dirty image manipulations, i use the Lasso Tool all the time. But its more for the funny photo-chop kind of thing.

IMHO you are trying to fix a "not a good job". Perhaps if you post the original pic we can show you how to do a "good job" that doesn't need fixes. The Fuzzy selection alone is usually a bad tool for this.
