I think the euphemisms are just 'spin'. There are 2 astronauts who are not stranded and returning them would leave the space station 'understaffed'.
A SpaceX capsule (Crew-9) is currently docked at the space station and waiting for the replacement capsule (Crew-10). So its broken-down?
