Help with unusual request - rinaldop - 03-16-2025

Hello again everyone,

I am back again after a long time with a strange request. If it is beyond the scope of this forum just let me know. I am trying to do a two frame animation with the eject button image shown below. Frame 1 would be the image as it currently is and frame 2 would be the same image with the protection cover raised exposing the eject switch.

I thought it would be a simple thing to find online but after searching for a few hours I cannot even find an eject button image that was not just a red button.

Is this something that can be easily done in GIMP or do I need to keep searching.

Thanks

I can easily believe the long search. Everything these days seems to be "monitised" making finding images difficult.

I did find this, https://totalcontrols.eu/product/eject-handle/ which at least gives an idea of the form.

You might cobble something together, from parts of images but not easy without a lot of (guess) work.

I pop up what I made, did not spend much time on it, but it might give some ideas. Much copy / paste / clone ....

Rich, you are amazing! Thanks much!

As a hobby (which explains why I am so bad at GIMP) I make templates for people to graphically monitor PC stats on screens like this:
https://www.amazon.com/Wisoqu-Industrial-Embedded-Panel-1024x600/dp/B0DDTVTXT2?th=1

I took a screenshot of an A-10 Warthog cockpit and used it to make a panel. As the computer use gets more intense warning lights turn red for CPU, GPU, MEM, and the safety cover comes off ready for the pilot to eject!

Take a look!
