How do I place 2 borders around an image ? - Clueless - 04-14-2025 Hi Please can anyone tell me how do I place a white border around an image that has a white surrounding area, and then another coloured border ? I thought it would be as easy to insert a white border first and then another larger coloured (colored) border, however the white border has a differently shaded area along 2 sides with a mitre in one corner. thanks in advance RE: How do I place 2 borders around an image ? - Tas_mania - 04-15-2025 There are any many ways of doing this. Possibly the easiest is look at the size of you image in the layers with 'Scale Layer'. [attachment=13389] Then add your border in pixels and add to the width and height with a calculator. Say you wanted a 25px border all round your image? Make a new image of size 1330 X 1009. Go back to original image, select the layer and press ctrl + C. This is copy. Go to the new image and do Edit > Paste as > New Layer. This puts your image right in the middle. [attachment=13390] Merge you pasted layer down and its done. For another border use the same method. RE: How do I place 2 borders around an image ? - denzjos - 04-15-2025 Use 'Filters / Decor / Add Border' and set 'Delta Value on Color' to 1. You can also change the color, to do so click on the square color next to 'Border Color'. If you have large images and wide borders consider Image -> Canvas size. It does "arithmetic", remember to add 2xborder size to width/depth. example: https://i.imgur.com/q19Sda3.mp4 RE: How do I place 2 borders around an image ? - Clueless - 04-15-2025 Many thanks for your replies. I used denzjos method - it worked perfectly !! RE: How do I place 2 borders around an image ? - sallyanne - 04-17-2025 I also see your problem. You need a (color of outside border) canvas behind your picture that is larger than it then select your picture using alpha to select then Selection > Border (according to the size of your picture) then do a white fill. Then you can crop your picture to make your second border around the picture. Otherwise there are many scripts/filters that will do it. |
