Slowing down - ijeniik - 05-04-2025

Hello all good people,

my question is simple. Has anyone experienced that after using the ICC monitor profile, Gimp slows down significantly? I wonder if this is due to my ICC profile or if using them is generally so demanding on performance that Gimp slows down.

Thank you  Shy

From the g00gle AI

AI Overview

Yes, using an ICC monitor profile can potentially slow down your system, especially when playing games or demanding video playback. This is because the graphics program needs to process the ICC profile data to apply color corrections on the fly, which can strain processing resources.

Is a before / after comparison not possible ?

Edit -> Preferences -> Image display mode = No Color Management
and to make sure set Monitor Profile to None.

To be truthful It makes no difference here but then my monitor profile is a dubious LCD icm
