Color fill into pasted layer - RealGomer - 05-08-2025
I'm sure this could be done in v2.10. I copied an image into another one. When I tried to bucket fill / paint the new layer and nothing happened. I merged down the new layer into the original layer and still nothing. Am I missing something?

In your tool options for Bucket fill, check your modes. Behind will seem to do nothing and so does overlay for two.........Maybe more
Also make sure your pasted layer isn't a floating layer still.

Turns out the Alpha layer was cornfuddled. Of course I can't find that setting now.

Right click on your layer (in the layer's dialog) and you will find in the menu there to turn alpha on or off
