Change of operation of the program version 3 - brianleach - 05-13-2025

On Windows 10 32 bit version I was amazed to see that the program is now located in the user data apps roaming folder.

This causes my Trend antivirus to refuse to print without being overridden and thinks it is ransomware when I try to open a file.

I am sure there is  a good reason for this but it escapes me.

I will probably need to revert to 2.10.

This is a difference between Gimp 2.10 amd Gimp 3.0

The default installation is for Your Own Use and is C:\Users\your-id\AppData\Local\ProgramsGIMP 3

The Gimp 2.10 installer default was C:\Program Files.

If you want Gimp 3 back in C:\Program Files\... then reinstall and use the For All Users option.

You can actually install anywhere if you use the customise setup.

Yes, It looks like you need a good uninstall and start from scratch other wise the installer just installs to previous location.  Use the for all  option.
