Can't see GIMP windows - Tankred - 06-30-2025 I have used GIMP for years. I upgraded to 3.0 and can't see any of the windows. I have it pinned to the taskbar ande tried to run it from there, nothing. The services are running in Task Manager, both gdbus and GIMP. I deleted the sessionrc folder and restarted. I have reinstalled it many times. My graphics driver is up to date. Here is what I have for my computer:
and various normal things. I am a total loss because I have never seen this and I am a computer technician/cybersecuritry analyst. Please help as I have been thru almost every suggestion on Google! Thanks RE: Can't see GIMP windows - Ofnuts - 06-30-2025 How many screens? There are Windows utilities that list the apps and their windows and let you manipulate them (move, restore...), did you try any of these? RE: Can't see GIMP windows - Tas_mania - 06-30-2025 I've seen something similar with Debian. Installing Gimp 2.x or 3.x for the very first time puts new files into $HOME/.config/GIMP/3.0/ (LInux). People were using Gimp 2.x for so long that most people were just updating this folder. I seems easy for something to go wrong on an initial Gimp install. As you are computer-savy you maybe able to locate your log files when Gimp is started and see where it halts. 'Gimp --verbose' from a terminal should also show you any errors. If that doesn't work I suggest installing another Gimp3 version, possibly an earlier one just to write these essential files into your home account. I really don't want to pay Adobe any more than I have to! ![]() (06-30-2025, 08:57 AM)Tas_mania Wrote: I've seen something similar with Debian.
