Is This Possible ? Print centering and scaling issue - Clueless - 07-15-2025

I am trying to get this image to centre on a custom sized piece of paper 210mm x 99mm (its for sublimation onto a coffee mug)

I have an Epson printer and have changed all the settings to what I believe are the correct ones, - user defined paper size, fit to page, centre etc.

Currently I print the images on A4 sized paper and cut them down, this is wasteful and expensive !

The paper supplier says its not possible to print this using GIMP due to centering and scaling bugs, and has suggested I change photo manipulation software which I don't want to do as its taken me a year to fumble my way around Gimp !

Plus the fact it would cost me £67 for the new software just to do one job  Angry

Thanks in advance from the UK

It is true that printing from Gimp isn't too easy. But if you want accurate printing, export the picture from Gimp (PNG or JPG) and insert in in a Word or LibreOffice document, where you can position/size it as you wish on the page. Then print the page.

@ Clueless - Please tell us which Gimp you are using - it does prevent guessing:  Gimp Help menu -> About

If you want to try printing from Gimp set up an empty template based on the Gimp A4 landscape,  which is 3508x2480 px @ 300 ppi .  Then crop down according to the margin settings shown in File -> Print Setup. I do not know what your Epson uses, might even be borderless.  but my Brother looks like this.

210 x 99 mm is half a A4 landscape, so you should be able to get two images out of one sheet.  Using the cut-down template the values to check are the printing resolution - should be 300 ppi and the margins - should be zero.

Windows has 5 templates for printing images - from passport to A4 size. Just Click on your image then on print and it will give you the option as to what size you wish to print
