Editing the Open File dialogue's recent list - Michkov - 08-05-2025

Hello everyone. I'm trying to customize the UI of my GIMP installation and would like to remove all the default items, i.e. everything in the yellow box in the attached image, from dialogue.

I tried right clicking them, but the removal option is disabled. How would I go about getting rid of them?

Thanks

You can't, at least by just tweaking a theme. You would have to rewrite a subclass of the GtkFileChooser in the GTK3 library and alter the Gimp source code to use it.
