Is it possible to edit a gradient after applying it? - Dunham - 10-07-2025

"Hello everyone!

I have a question: if I create a transparent layer, apply a gradient to it, and then select another tool (like the Move tool), can I still edit that same gradient later? Or do I need to create a new one from scratch?

Thanks

In the general case, you have to redo the gradient. In some specific cases (typically simple grayscale gradients) you can tweak the gradient later using levels/curves, but that can lead to banding if you are in a 8-bit image.
