Crash when "expand layer" activated - mrkid - 10-19-2025

Hi!. Im having issues with the option "expand layer" activated with clone, and maybe others. Anyone?
Two questions: how i report a Bug properly?
and... there is some way to recover not saved works?
I save always but, since i had some unexpecteded crash too offenly, i wonder that myself.

expand layer is a new feature, probably still buggy It does increase the overall layer size a lot. You could try Image -> zealous crop every now and again but the place for bug reports is https://gitlab.gnome.org/GNOME/gimp/-/issues

No way to recover those crashed files Just as you already do, frequent saves. There are a couple of plugins that save at regular intervals see: https://script-fu.github.io/funky/hub/plug-ins/folder/

Thanks Rich! Never heard of "Zealous crop", at first appears is too much zealous for me! ha. I will investigate how it works.
About save.. well, i use computers by decades, and even you know the golden rule to save and backup, sometimes you focus so much in your work, and forget... until a crash gives you a dose of reality. Some programs save your work in the crash moment, That`s good.
