configure and use midi controller - cb_in_lfk - 12-29-2025

I'd like to enable my Midi Fighter Twister (16 rotary encoders) to control certain GIMP parameters such as airbrush size, rate, flow; layer blending mode, opacity; mask visible/not, etc.

I am using GIMP 3.0.6 on an M1 Mac Mini running Tahoe 26.1

In      Preferences -> Input Controllers -> Configure Input Controller        I see a "MIDI" option, but there is no dropdown to choose a connected controller and I've tried a variety of names corresponding to the midi devices that are listed in Mac OS "Midi Audio Setup", e.g. ("Midi Fighter Twister", "IAC Driver").

The Midi Fighter Twister is connected and works properly in my DAW.

Does anyone have any tips on this issue?

Thanks!

That might be an interesting project.  A caveate, I have no midi device to try and using linux / Gimp 3.0.6

Did you add MIDI from Available Controllers to Active Controllers ?  Looks like this here:

No list of controllers, might be a MacOS thing ?
