Default startup tool - adiabat - 02-04-2018

Gimp selects the Airbrush tool on startup. I'd much rather start with a non-destructive tool like Rectangle Select. Is there a way to do that?

Not difficult.

1. Set up the tool box the way you want it - that might include the tools that show, the font and size, brush and size, anything else. then

2. Finish off activating the select tool and set any of properties you want .

3. In Edit -> Preferences -> Tool Options untick save tool options on exit

4. Click on Save Tool Options Now

Ok that and back to Gimp. Do not like that, go back to 1 and start again.

For a non-destructive tool Measure is probably best.
