Combine 3D render image and real image - Christophpher - 05-19-2018

Hello GIMP forum,

I hope someone would be so kind and help me with this challenge.

I will like to combine an image of a soccer player and a 3D render image I have created. So far I have been able to put the two pictures together.. But I need the final touch to make it look more 'real' or 'life like:

Do any of you have some suggestions of what I can do? I have put the different files that I am using into a dropbox folder:

Please feel free to guide and show me what is possible - that would be a great help for me.

Thank you,
Christopher

Need some shadow and a bit of faking in of the boots. Left-foot kick?

The light direction looks like it is center-high, with the position of the the player in your scheme, might just get the ball in. Shadow on the goals, might be ok as-is

An quick example:

Edit: A quick review and a thinking about it, the ball being further from the player will have its own shadow.

Attached a Gimp 2.8 file, should open with a OSX Gimp.
