Bimp and Exposure, where is it? - mholder - 06-28-2018

A new color adjustment in 2.10 is exposure, found in Colors->Exposure.

I want to use Bimp to batch process a bunch of images add add exposure.  I can't seem to find the procedure in Bimp.  Does anyone know what it is called or how to add exposure as a procedure in Bimp?

I don't believe you can.

I think it's a GEGL based filter and at present GEGL filters are not scriptable.

What are you using at the moment Linux or Windows? and if Gimp 2.10.2 where did you get it?

1. As Kevin stated. The problem is Colors -> Exposure is a GEGL operation, not in Gimp's pdb so BIMP does not pick it up for Other Gimp Procedure screenshot: https://i.imgur.com/GP5cbwA.jpg

2. If you have gmic plugin installed you might find one of the filters a match. Not recommending anything, it is all in the eye-of-the-beholder. Use a typical image, find your filter, use the verbose option to log the settings. https://i.imgur.com/Ib81NwL.jpg

3. In BIMP that goes in as a Other Gimp Procedure Copy / paste for very long command lines. Note the "1"'s and the "-" in front of the "v" as in this: https://i.imgur.com/HgJqiyq.jpg

This shown in Gimp 2.10.2 flatpak, Kubuntu 16.04 so stuck with the gtk version of gmic, qt version will be the similar.

I am using appimage 2.10.3 on Mint 18. I didn't realize g'mic could work in bimp like that.

Ok, that appimage already includes gmic_gimp_qt which hides that verbose log setting in gmic Settings -> Other -> Output messages

The log file is in the usual ~/.config/gmic/gmic_qt_log

Where does this log file appear for the GTK version for the flatpak?

Using the flatpak with gmic GTK then the log is in ~/.var/app/org.gimp.GIMP/config/gmic/gui_log

Thanks! You just saved me a tremendous amount of time!

Well, I just updated the Flatpak version to 2.10.8 and both Gmic GTK and Bimp no longer work. I don't know what to say, really. This Flatpak system doesn't seem to really work well.

Yes, I wish it was more comprehensive. It is the org.gnome.Platform package that is the problem

You will need to put all the extra files (about 30-ish) that I posted back into that package. I keep them in a folder so I can bulk copy over.

Just waiting for the day when they no longer work and I suppose I will have to update my 'buntu and move over to a regular Gimp 2.10 and lose the Gimp 2.8 installation.

If you no longer have those extra files let me know and I will zip something up
