However, since he hasn't updated the page since 2009, maybe he is no longer interested. But anyway I suspect that the right script fom 2.9 could be very different (16/32 bit processing, and "Linear light").

Yes, I sent him an email. Maybe he will update his script according to the upload of rich2005.

I hope not Wink A crude fix and Kevin gave a better answer.

As ofnuts noted it needs a complete rewrite. For example from the warning

deprecated procedure 'gimp-hue-saturation' should call 'gimp-drawable-hue-saturation'

The latter has an extra parameter overlap, you will see the slider in the regular Gimp hue-saturation dialog.

Easy enough to add to the script. Is the effect the same as the Gimp 2.8 version? no-way, for some reason it scatters coloured pixels over dark areas.

Many many thanks to rich2005 for updating the plugin. I will be happy to give him credit (what name? URL?) on my personal site.
However, I cannot access the registry.gimp.org site myself. I tried my old passwords and they don't work, and when I click on "Request new password", I get nothing.
It seems the site has been somewhat decommissioned.

What to do? The best nowadays might be to have the plugins hosted by something like Github.
I teach web development at UCSC among other things, and I could give as group projects the one of writing a site for indexing GIMP plugins, with ability to add plugins, and to comment on those. It is really rather straightforward to build such a site. Is there a need?

Welcome to gimp-forum.net

http://registry.gimp.org/ is all but dead. The maintainer has frozen it hoping an alternative can be found

see: http://www.gimpusers.com/mailmsg.php?CALNz_XGMueRftnC_Wf9j8WxJAX0a%2BGuC6TN7ng%2B3%3DJF1Zgrj7Q%40mail.gmail.com
or as a tinyurl https://tinyurl.com/zejqmvl

You could possibly contact the interested parties

When it comes to a colour temp plugin, Gimp 2.10 when it comes will have a function for adjustment. GEGL so it works directly on the canvas.

I also have a long standing account with registry.gimp.org but I would be too embarrassed to post that 'fix' even if it was possible.

There is a group working on evolving the Gimp Registry concept into an "AppStore" so that you could add plugins directly from Gimp. This would come with V3. I don't know the current status. Making that a university project could be fun. I can PM you the email of the people involved.

Otherwise, being not as shy as Rich, I could post the script. That would be my first Scheme script (and likely the last) Smile Has anyone tried your white balance script on 2.9?

Ok, you tell me what you want me to do with the updated scripts.
At a minimum I am going to publish them on my personal home page luca.dealfaro.org so others can find them.

Yes, if you put me in contact with the people who want to do the "Gimp AppStore", I will be happy to see what we can do to make this into a project for students.  You can contact me at at luca at dealfaro dot org or luca at ucsc dot edu .

That's the right thing to do. The Internet is laced with pointers to your pages. I can't count the number of times I referred people to them.
