Thanks... I downloaded G'Mic for Gimp - it has filters that do some of these steps for you (Photoshop had similar capabilities)
I mostly draw my works from scratch, using pen tools, pencil tools or sometimes do a rough sketch on paper then finalize with the software -
similar to this =
