Very nice images, Dinasset. I especially like the ones from the filters that you updated.

Thanks Pat.

Done additional experiments with my last configuration (the one used for the cat).
The effect looks to me enough "delicate" to be applied on portraits, and I did it.
Here some results:

They are absolutely beautiful and fine. Dinasset, you are doing a very good job on those experiments. Congrats!  Smile

Thanks a lot Issabella.

RE: Plays with Gimp - rich2005 - 02-03-2019

Post here and you are open to comments and for me, it is all in the eye of the beholder.

This instant art for me is ambiguous. The cat is not bad, that one would print ok and its expression makes me smile. The others either neutral or for some of the degradations, poor girls, I am sure they would not be impressed. Some of those old filters might be best left "undiscovered".

Since you obviously make several of these a day, and they give you great pleasure, what do you do with them, apart from post here? Do you ever print?

Printing all depends on the image of course, for example some I might print on art paper, the absorbency and texture is its own built in filter. https://i.imgur.com/vQfJLyr.jpg (quick photo of a print, poor lighting, still cold dark winter here Wink )

In my humble opinion, when one of the members of the forum posts the results he or she gets, it is not only because they are satisfied with the results, but also to receive and perceive different open opinions of all kind. Seeing the results is always enriching for everyone, the people who create it and also for the people who see it. The art is so rich and varied that it fits so much variety of tastes. That way, we can all enjoy and learn from it too.
Dinasset has demonstrated extensive knowledge of painting and photography among other programming skills, for long. He is always an active member willing to help those who need it. He is experimenting and trying to improve what he already did and I do not understand the reason why you, Rich, ask those rather insolent questions, in my opinion.

That is great. It is your opinion, much appreciated and you hit the essential.

Well I prefer to give a somewhat more critical opinion than a blanket OK.

Certainly does, but that does not mean to say that I have to agree with all his work without comment.

Insolent questions, certainly not.
