How to resize pictures without losing quality? - Sara - 06-26-2019

Hello guys, this is my first question here.

So, I was trying to make a GIF using sprites I downloaded. However, the pictures are very small, and whenever I try to make them larger, the quality becomes low.
Is there any way to fix this? Thanks.

Not unless you want "pixel art". The perceived quality of an image is more or less related to the quantity of information per pixel(*). When you enlarge the image you spread the same amount of information over more pixels, so the information/pixel is lower and the image quality degrades (the image is blurry or pixellated, depending on the scaling algorithm).

The GIF format itself doesn't allow good image quality since the number of colors is severely restricted.

(*) If this were not true, all images would be 1x1 images, scaled up Smile
