G'MIC on Catalina - ignign0kt - 10-25-2019

I installed the newest GIMP version and downloaded the latest G'MIC version and put it in the plug-ins folder. However I get this error when opening GIMP or running the gmic_gimp_qt binary.

“libX11.6.dylib” is damaged and can’t be opened. You should move it to the Trash.

Is this just a case of Catalina compatibility?

Did you download a 32-bit or 64-bit version? No OSX expert, but I hear that Catalina will only run 64-bit code.

Good point, I do not see separate 32/64bit versions of GMIC on the download page. However it seems according to their github they only build for 64bit anymore

Interesting post here: https://discuss.pixls.us/t/mac-compile-for-c-not-c/14588/21 Post #15.

David_Tschumperle made this comment the mac is currently a disaster. It is not fit for production use, and as of 2019, the install of anything opensource will not go smoothly. although it seems he eventually managed something.

..and then this tweet. https://twitter.com/GIMP_Official/status/1186580747110506496

Edit: An alternative build here, https://github.com/aferrero2707/gimp-plugins-collection/releases/tag/continuous might be worth a try.
