When I scale a layer it disappears..Why? - marigolden - 02-05-2020

I scale this item in a layer bigger and then the item seems to disappear even though the layer is still there, visibility on and everything. When I undo the scale it appears again:/

I am not quite sure what you are doing here. If there is no selection the entire layer is scaled. If you do have a selection the selected area is scaled and becomes a new floating layer. Usual procedure would then be to choose "To new layer".

If you are enlarging the layer it could be that the layer is now larger than the canvas.

Screenshot of the whole UI? When you activate the invisible layer in the Layers list, to you see the layer boundary lines (and if you zoom out, do they shos outside of the canvas porthole?)

I was scaling the whole layer yeah. I think it's a glitch maybe, because it stopped disappearing yesterday then today it started doing it again (both times while scaling the same item). But today when it was being troublesome again I noticed when I right clicked the layer and pressed "scale layer" and did it that way instead of clicking directly on the item with the scale tool, it didn't disappear. So yeah not sure what was happening with it but now it's as I want it..thanks ^ ^
Oh and it wasn't the canvas being too small, the canvas is much bigger than what I was stretching it to, with boundary line accounted for
