Hello, when I open a TIF with Gimp it defaults to px.
is there a way to default to mm?

No way that I can see in preferences to set the units when opening an existing tiff. Someone might find a way.

Adding an image (a tiff or other) to an existing image inherits the properties. Therefore, adding a tiff to an open A4 template canvas, is in millimetres.

That is more trouble than setting the units in the info bar bottom of the Gimp main window to change the rulers.

However (always a however) With an open image, tiff / png / jpeg the print size Image -> Print Size shows in mm here. Maybe that comes from a OS setting. What does come from the image is the dpi setting.
