How to install user manual? - CharType - 06-21-2017
I'd like to install the GIMP user manual on my computer so I can use the in-program help and read the manual offline. How do I install the user manual? I downloaded it from here: https://www.gimp.org/news/2014/08/14/gimp-manual-282-released/, and I extracted the files, but GIMP is still saying that the user manual isn't installed. Thanks.

I think you downloaded 150 MB of source files. Nothing that you can install.
There are compiled installation packages for OSX here: http://gimp.lisanet.de/Website/Download.html bottom of the page
Whether or not you can get one to work with your OSX version is a matter of good fortune.
An alternative for off-line use is the help package in PDF format.

I tried the latest installation package and it's still saying the help manual is not installed locally. The pdf file seems to be what I was looking for though. Thanks.
