can't change colours on gimp - loolaeel - 03-09-2021
Hi everyone, I am a new gimp user. Im trying to change the colours but cannot do so. It says the items have been transformed and cannot be changed. I have a few layers of texts, a few shape vectors(paths) and a few lines. I've made every individual item on their own layers. Please help. I wanna change the colours from black to different colours.

One can change colour in text layers using the 'Text Tool'. In the tool options one can change the font, the size and the colour. Select the text you want to change, click on the colored rectangle in the tool options and choose the colour that you want. The colour of the text is changed instantly.

You need to give more details of what is transformed. Often a full screenshot of Gimp showing layers / tools / tool options helps. Using android ? Is this a linux Gimp installation?

Hi thank you for replying. I did that for my text and it worked. Howevver for the vectors i cant change the colours at all. I wann to colour the inside. I attached a screenshot.

The screenshots help a lot. From that last one it looks to me like (1) you are on the text layer (2) you are making a selection around the text and the active path
..... and of course nothing happens.
Turn the selection off Select -> None
Make the middle layer (layer) active
Set the FG colour
Then Edit -> Fill Path
