pencil don't have full color - Puncheress - 08-08-2022 Hi. New to 2.10 and gimp. I have a problem, where my pencil will not draw at full color strengh - I have to draw the same spot 3-4 times to get black, green or any color. Have tried changing pencils and opacity is at 100%. Can't seem to figure it out. Hope you have suggestions. RE: pencil don't have full color - PixLab - 08-08-2022 (08-08-2022, 03:46 AM)Puncheress Wrote: Hi. New to 2.10 and gimp. Without any screenshot of your GIMP, just guessing Your pencil might be in Grain Merge mode ➤ Put it to Normal If not, have a look at your layer stack, is it on Normal mode? Do you have Dynamics for the pencil tool set to "Dynamics Off" ? This is what was wrong with mine. Thank you for telling me what gimp would not. Very helpful and I appreciate it. Any chance you know how to make gimp stop pasting every single thing I copy onto a new layer ... no matter what extra buttons I hit when I paste ??? Very helpful and I appreciate it. Are you using ctrl-c / ctrl-v for copy / paste ? The default for ctrl-v is paste as a new layer. Did you previously use Gimp 2.10 where the default ctrl-v was paste-as-floating data. That baffled new users so it was changed in Gimp 3. [attachment=14062] Look in Edit -> Paste as for the options as menu use If you want you can change the ctrl-v using Edit -> Keyboard Shortcuts see: https://docs.gimp.org/3.0/en/gimp-help-keyboard-shortcuts.html ...and you can move the pasted data around and then "anchor" it. You can just as easily leave it as-is, paste as a new layer and merge the layer down. If you have come from PS or similar, Gimp does not use Objects which I believe "float" |
