Your image as downloaded has a white background.
The easiest (IMHO) is Colors -> Hue-Chroma and adjust the hue slider.

..you can also adjust the lightness slider > zero and get different shades although you might compromise the anti-aliasing. As will all Gimp just experiment ..

Or you could try colorize. Also in the colour menu drop down list - near the bottom
