Logo Integration - hugo73150 - 05-16-2023

Hello,

I'm looking to integrate a logo on a photo like below.

https://drive.google.com/file/d/1KwHlHEKcp7LSVGthlVHBuQsNeD_georg/view?usp=sharing
The logo circled here has been added to the photo and I can't find the steps to get this rendering.
I start with this logo in black.

Thank you for your help

Your images are not showing (broken link)? So you can upload them as attachment here and even insert them in the text, see here.

Yeah, google drive - I removed the img tags

However, in the meantime

It looks to me like the logo has been bump-mapped https://docs.gimp.org/2.10/en/gimp-filter-bump-map.html  One issue with the logo is it is solid black and that does not bump map.

I might do it this way: https://youtu.be/ZxA_BR9SZdw  3 minutes

1. Scale and move to fit the canvas - Use the Unified transform tool - all in one
2. Black does not work so Colours -> Invert gives a white logo.
3. For bump mapping the logo layer has to be the same size as the canvas Layer -> Layer to Image Size.
4. Duplicate that layer for the Map Layer Layer -> Duplicate layer
5. Give that layer a small Gaussian blur Filters -> Blur -> Gaussian Blur
6. Into the logo layer and Bump Map Filters -> Map -> Bump Map
7. Restore the Black-ish colour using Colours -> Colorize  Absolute black hides all the work you have done, so the colour has to be a little into the grey side.

Bump Mapping is a basic to many effects. It is worth practising.

I thought of another option.
Basically it's exactly the same process as explained by rich2005, except that the logo would remain black on a white background.

In practice it would be to select white as the background color and remove the transparency from the layer.
When applying the bump map to this logo (black on white background) the result looks a little more raised, which is what the image in post #01 looked like to me.
