What filter is this? - Methuselah96 - 11-25-2017

Can anyone help me figure out what filter was used to create this image? I created this image a couple years ago using Gimp, but I can't remember what filter I used. Before the filter was applied, the image was a solid light-green circle with solid white stripes. (I blurred out the text since they're names.) I've gone through all the filters and I can't seem to find a filter that produces the same result.

Best I can suggest is two stages:

1. The body of the yellow 'ball' with RGB noise Filters -> Noise -> RGB Noise applied as: https://i.imgur.com/tnwORsW.jpg

2. The white 'stripes' on a layer above that and the layer mode set to Dodge. https://i.imgur.com/QvuZ1OL.jpg

I would do it that way:

  1. Create the plain yellow layer with the while lines
  2. Add a layer
  3. Set foreground color to a darker yellow
  4. Set gradient to "FG to transparent"
  5. Using the gradient tool, set to shape: "Bilinear", "Repeat: triangle", draw a pattern of slanted lines (4-5px apart)
  6. Set that layer to "Dissolve" mode, and reduce opacity to taste
  7. For added effect (not shown below) you can duplicate the lines layer and flip it
