Printing on an envelope - akn_39 - 04-15-2024

Hello Everyone: Does GIMP have an envelope template? If not, is there a way in GIMP to print an address on a standard business envelope (9.25X4.125)?

Thanks. . .

You can create one, File > New..., look in "Templates" on the new window, if not, create a new one by selecting inches and input the dimensions

Then search an envelope on the internet with the place to write an address and import in GIMP, resize the imported envelope to the size of the image in GIMP with the Scale tool (check Keep Aspect Ratio it's important)

Then with the Rectangle select tool make a selection of the "Writing" zone, save it to the channel Save > Save to channel, you can delete that layer of the envelope you've downloaded, no need anymore

go back to the layers' dialog and write inside that selection

And here is the XCF if you want it as template (look in the channel dialog if you want to use a selection)

Then when you print just set your printer for this type of envelope

Hello PixLab: Thank you for your detailed and illustrated reply - very helpful. I find it interesting that GIMP provides a template for Toilet Paper, but not for a Business Envelope.
